Confirm Seminole Jail Releases

To find someone released from Seminole County Jail on a Hughes County case, first confirm that Seminole was the person’s actual custodian. The facility received Hughes detainees when the former county jail closed, but the available sources do not establish Seminole as the permanent or sole receiving jail. A physical release is documented by the jail that held the person. The Hughes County court file explains the local order or case event, while a transfer into Oklahoma state custody follows a different record path. Each source answers a separate part of the release question.

Seminole Jail Release Route

Reporting on the November 2023 Hughes County jail closure documented that detainees were initially moved to Seminole County Jail in Wewoka. That is solid historical evidence of a receiving role. It is not proof that a named person is there now. Later reporting found at least one Hughes detainee in Okfuskee County, which shows that contract placement can vary. Call the Hughes County Sheriff’s Office first and ask which jail accepted the individual.

If HCSO identifies Seminole as the physical custodian, Seminole’s booking or release record is the key record for the door-exit event. The person may leave for the community after bond, dismissal, time served, or sentence completion. Staff may instead transfer the person to ODOC, another jail, a tribal authority, USMS, or ICE. Transfer is continued custody. It must not be labeled a community release simply because the person no longer appears in one roster.

Important: Seminole County Jail is a documented receiving facility, not a guaranteed permanent placement for every Hughes County detainee.

Confirm Seminole Jail Release

A Hughes case and a Seminole jail stay create a two-county record trail. The jail record answers when that custodian admitted and released or transferred the person. The Hughes docket answers why the person was held and what court event may have authorized the change. Use both.

  1. Call HCSO with the full name, birth date, approximate arrest date, and arresting agency. Confirm Seminole as the actual receiving jail.
  2. Ask Seminole whether the person remains in custody, was released to the community, or moved to another agency.
  3. Request the release date and time, release manner, order or court reference, and destination if transferred.
  4. Search the official OSCN docket with Hughes County selected. Compare bond, dismissal, judgment, sentence, or time-served events.
  5. Use ODOC Offender Lookup if sentencing or state reception is possible. A facility location is continued prison custody.

VINE may show an agency-fed release or transfer event and can send future notices. It does not replace the jail log. If a VINE result says released, confirm with the named agency. If it returns no match, retry name variants and contact the custodian rather than inferring release.

Seminole Jail Release Fields

A focused request should identify the booking episode. Oklahoma’s law-enforcement open-record provision names maintained jail-register facts such as commitment date and cause or authority, plus date or manner of discharge or escape. Ask for the public booking and release entry instead of an undefined “inmate file.”

FieldWhy it matters
Booking number and identifiersSeparates the correct person and jail stay
Commitment date and agencyShows when Seminole received the detainee and from whom
Release date and timeRecords the physical end of Seminole custody
Release mannerPreserves bond, time served, dismissal, sentence completion, or the agency’s term
DestinationDistinguishes a community exit from transfer
Court or order referenceConnects the physical action to the Hughes legal event

The research did not establish Seminole’s current online archive window, release-feed definition, fee schedule, or record hours. Confirm those details with the facility. Request a booking photograph only if kept and not exempt. The public jail-register provision does not promise that every photo must be online.

Note: A current-only roster is weak historical evidence because a missing name can reflect release, transfer, archive removal, or data lag.

Seminole Release Record Contacts

Begin with HCSO because Hughes placement is not fixed. Its verified directory listing provides the routing contact below. Once Seminole is confirmed, ask HCSO for the current Seminole booking-desk or records channel rather than relying on an unverified jail-themed site. No Seminole facility address, direct number, or records hours were supplied in the project research, so none is invented here.

Hughes County Sheriff’s Office

200 N. Broadway, Suite 1
Holdenville, OK 74848
Phone: 405-379-2203
Use: Confirm the physical receiving jail and local records custodian.

The Hughes County Court Clerk can provide the related order, judgment, or certified docket record at P.O. Box 32, Holdenville, OK 74848, 405-379-3384. A clerk record can show the legal cause for release. It may not show the exact time Seminole staff finished the release process or whether another hold intervened.

Seminole and AGCC Releases Differ

The county jail closure and the ODOC takeover of Davis Correctional Facility were separate 2023 events. Seminole received local Hughes detainees after the basement jail closed. Allen Gamble Correctional Center remained an operating state prison in Holdenville after ODOC took it over and renamed it. A Seminole jail entry and an AGCC offender record therefore describe different custody systems.

For a Seminole release, ask the county jail for its physical-exit record and Hughes County for the court authority. For AGCC, use ODOC Offender Lookup, ODOC records, and VINE. Parole may mean release from prison into conditional ODOC supervision. Discharge means the formal end recorded by ODOC. A transfer from Seminole to AGCC is not release at all.

Seminole Transfers Need Verification

A DOJ-hosted historical Hughes/BIA/Muscogee cross-deputization agreement shows why arresting, transporting, court, and custodial authorities can differ in the region. Its jail terms predate the Hughes closure and cannot identify a current destination. It remains useful as a warning against treating the arresting agency as the final custodian.

If Seminole reports a tribal or federal transfer, ask for the receiving agency and transfer time, then verify there. USMS can use local contract beds for federal defendants. ICE may take custody after another hold ends. No verified Hughes or AGCC ICE detention contract was found. A transfer between these authorities remains custody even if the Seminole entry closes.

Read Seminole Release Terms

Use the exact term in the record. Bond ends detention in that episode while the case continues. Time served means the credited term ended in that case. Dismissal can remove one charge yet leave another hold. A detainer is notice that another authority may seek custody. None proves that all legal duties or supervision ended.

Released
An agency-recorded end to that custodial stay, which still needs its manner and destination checked.
Transferred
A handoff to another custodian, not freedom from custody.
Parole
Conditional release from state prison while ODOC supervision continues.
Discharge
The formal end of the sentence or supervision shown by the responsible authority.

When dates conflict, favor the signed order for legal authority and the jail release entry for the physical exit. The Hughes County release-record search supplies the full cross-system path.

Search Past Seminole Releases

An older Hughes placement may no longer appear in a current jail view. Ask Seminole whether it can search an archived register, booking sheet, release sheet, transport log, or other maintained record. Include the full name, birth date or booking number, Hughes arrest date, and arresting agency. That detail helps staff separate the correct contract booking from an unrelated Seminole case. Request an electronic response, an advance cost estimate, and the legal basis for any withheld field.

Keep source dates. A current roster says little about a stay that ended months earlier. An OSCN event can explain legal cause but may precede the door exit. A VINE notice can timestamp an agency-fed change but is not the certified jail log. The strongest historical result pairs the Seminole release or transfer entry with the Hughes case record.

Names must be matched across counties. Compare aliases, date of birth, booking number, case number, and arresting agency when known. If the same name appears in more than one record, do not assume one person is involved. Ask the agencies which identifier links the Hughes arrest to the Seminole booking. When dates conflict, provide both record dates and ask the custodians to reconcile the sequence.

Resolve Seminole Release Conflicts

When sources disagree, identify the question behind each date. The Hughes docket date may mark when a judge signed or entered an order. The Seminole release time should mark when jail staff completed the physical exit or transfer. A VINE time reflects when an agency-fed event reached that service. None should silently replace the others. Ask the jail whether another hold, identity check, transport plan, or processing step explains the gap.

If ODOC appears after the Seminole stay, the person entered state custody rather than the community. Search the ODOC number and location, then request the state record if a later parole or discharge must be proved. A prison transfer may occur on the same day Seminole closes its booking, but that matching date still does not make the event a release.
